How Speculum AI Works
Speculum AI is designed as institutional governance infrastructure for agentic AI systems — systems where AI is no longer just generating outputs, but initiating and executing decisions.
Architecturally, the platform is intentionally split into two distinct but connected layers:
Mirror OS — the execution and control system that governs what AI systems are allowed to do, and what they are not, at every decision boundary.
Mirror AI Field Engineer — a governed reasoning and support layer that helps human operators understand decisions, deploy governance controls, and improve configurations — without ever executing actions itself.
This separation is deliberate. In regulated environments, governance must be enforced by systems at runtime — not retroactively explained after the fact.
Mirror OS
Internal System Architecture
The execution-layer governance system. It sits between AI models and enterprise applications, enforcing control, accountability, and evidence generation at every decision boundary.

Reasoning & Support Layer
A governed reasoning interface that helps you understand, deploy, and optimize Speculum AI products. Explains decisions, diagnoses issues, and recommends improvements — without taking autonomous action.
Quick Overview
Mirror OS
The execution system — controls what AI can do.
AI Field Engineer
The reasoning layer — helps you understand and optimize.
Design Principle
Mirror OS governs execution.
Mirror AI Field Engineer supports understanding.
Together, they allow institutions to scale agentic AI without losing accountability, auditability, or control.
